I think RELOADED or ViTALiTY need to take over uploading a working version with sound and installer sorted out. Razor1911 **** ed this one up with their installer.

the instal doesnt come further with me by insert disk 2. it doesnt recognize it as disk 2. so i say this one is **** d!

All i get after sucessfully unraring, mounting the DVD1 image file and running setup.exe is quick install, a startup icon and an empty Programs/Empire Total War folder.
As this happened to anyone else or does anyone have any ideas? I can't even begin to worry about all the other report issues if i can't get the install ro run properly. Thanks

Confirmed Faulty.

Major Installation and stability problems EVEN after applying the Standard Sound Fix.
The problem is most likely due to up loader missing out on a few game-critical files.

I'd wait a few days or perhaps weeks till razor rectifies this problem (cant blame them, the game DID come out only 3 days ago...)

I can`t agree with necromage9... i installed it, applied the sound fix, and i haven`t encountered any errors, problems. THE GAME RUNS OK.

I have guns sounds, have battle ending, crashes can be heard, and even the "woman" who gives the tips, can be heard correctly...

Just follow the installing instructions...

And when installing, when asked to insert the file... YOU MOUNT THE IMAGE, and BROWSE FOR THE FILE ON THE SPECIFIED DISK.

This is horrible. Over 800 seeders and I can't even get higher than 20kb/s download speed. This is going to take weeks to torrent.

Judging by what others have said, this game is real. They also say there's problems with the sound. Is it confirmed if the sound fix actually fixes the game yet?

It works for some people, but it's generally buggy, and for some people it won't even install. Like, I can't get it to install, and I've been doing this sorta thing for years.=p Razor apparently nuked this release, too, so for the people who are having troubles, I doubt it's just them being dumb.
I'd recommend waiting for another release, myself. If you wanna give this a try, download the sound fixes, and hope this download works out for ya'. I'm currently downloading it to try it, but I don't have high hopes.

Oh yeah, the download's also rather slow, the s to l ratio is pretty horrible. But there's nothing better, as far as I know.

its not just about being dumb or failing to follow instructions, the torrent apparently has an issue with 64bit machines (which could very well be the game's fault itself as its still relatively new and full of bugs waiting to be addressed in upcoming patches).

I tried this torrent on two different machines with different architecture. Worked in my vista 32bit but not in my 64bit counterpart.

About the Sound fix, I didnt say the fix didnt work, just that it does not complete the job. Upon further research I found out that the sound file has been taken from the demo version, which explains why a select few sounds are missing even after applying the fix. Again, not the torrents fault but rather the sheer lack of availability. Sound fix tried and tested in both machines, yielding similar if not identical results.

Super detailed install instructions: I hope it is clear enough to help out!

What you need:

The game files or course.

The real sound_fx files found on the internet or anywhere convenient.

The repacked Crack from Razor.

The episodic1.rar to fix a mission bug in the game

Now you should be good to go.

You should get 2 ISO images when all your stuff is extracted called DVD 1 and DVD 2.

What you have to do is to extract the files inside those ISO?s, use ISObuster or any other iso image program and extract all the files from these 2 iso images in a unique folder somewhere on your hard drive. Do not mount them with alcohol or deamon tools it is a waste of time.

Once the extraction of both dvd?s is done inside the same folder on the hard drive, copy the content of this folder into the Temp directory of your Hard drive which is normally this path.

C:Do **** ents and Settings-Local SettingsTemp

For your knowledge, the minus bar in the path represents your account name on your pc, as you can see the bar is my account name yours could be anything as example below.

C:Do **** ents and SettingsElvisLocal SettingsTemp

If you want to go to the temp folder by clicking and navigating to it, you may have to enable show hidden folders options to get to the folder without typing the path.

To do this, you go on tool then folder options a new window will pop up then you click on the view tab. You scroll down just a bit and you are gonna see hidden files and folder and you are just gonna turn on show hidden files and folders. You will now be able to see all the hidden folders on your hard drive and get to that temp folder.

The reason why you are doing all of this is that you will not get the

the stop error message that the Razor installer will give you if you do not have the game files in all the same folder. It just saves aggravation on the install.

Once the files are all copied to that folder you can get back to the original folder you extracted all those files too and click and the setup.exe ( the pirate icon)

The razor installer will open, it may take some time as it has to install over 15 gb of stuff on your hard drive?it is time to go take a beer, have sex, listen to music, do drugs or surf for more pirate crap.

Once the install is over, the razor window will simply go away.

Delete the games files in the temp folder they are now worthless?

Game is installed, time to fix and crack!

Take the real sound_fx file you have downloaded it should be close or just a little bit over 819 mb, copy and paste into the Data folder where you have installed the game on your hard drive which should be this folder C:Program FilesEmpire Total War if you are using windows xp that is?

That part is done. You have fixed the sound issue in the game.

Now to crack the game.

You have to put in the razor crack which is the tricky part of the deal?but it ends up being real simple when you finally understand how it is done.

Unrar or unzip Razor?s crack on your hard drive somewhere. Do not unzip/unrar where you have installed your game, it will probably confuse you when you move the files around. Extract the razor crack in your do **** ents folder instead?

You should now get a Razor1911 folder after extraction

Inside that folder you should have the following:

A folder named: config

A folder named : Data

An executable named: Empire.exe

What you need to do is this.

First you need to take the Empire.exe executable and put it in the install folder which should be this C:Program FilesEmpire Total War on your hard drive.

Then you put the config folder also in that C:Program FilesEmpire Total War folder.

Then you go inside the Data f

older, copy all those files in there and put them in the Data folder which is located at C:Program FilesEmpire Total Wardata. It is going to ask you to overwrite stuff?just say yes.

Game is cracked! You should not get those steamapi.dll error message?

Now to fix a mission bug in the game:

Unzip/Unrar the episodic file somewhere on your hard drive.

You will get a folder called episodic_1

Copy this folder.

Go to the folder where you have installed the game: C:Program FilesEmpire Total War

You need to put this folder here.

C:Program FilesEmpire Total Wardatacampaigns

Again It is going to ask you to overwrite stuff and you just say yes.

After doing all of this I went back to the install folder and clicked on the execute and the game popped up. Strangely enough I did not have to have steam on for this to happen. I have tested this with steam on with a bogus account and with steam off and it works.

I have not really have play tested the game for bugs since I have just finished the install and this tutorial which I hope will help.

I am sure that some other stuff will come up with the game but for now this is the steps to fix what has happened so far.

not multi language. all installs do work correctly, just dont be lazy and do some research on how to install it...all the info is on the internet you just have to look for it, google is a great tool. this game is very buggy, not just the torrent version but the retail version is too. so i wouldnt waste my time downloading this until they release patches to fix these bugs.

Finally got it to work!

Mounting ISO -> copy everything to the c:--temp folder & the setup from there works!

Didn't install properly by installing from just mounting the ISO image but did after following the instructions *necromage9* gave!

but if our C partition is to low to be able to copy the files there? i'm one of those who has a small partition for windows ( C ) and big ones for other stuff ( music games etc ).

Yes, I am running this game on vista.
If ur working on the same platform, ur local temp folder should be under:
C:UsersUsernameAppDataLocal

Depending upon ur settings, u may need to enable administrator mode to show hidden files and folders.
extract the files from the iso's to that folder and the installer should be able to rout itself.

I got the game playing with some fixes like the sound fix, Montreal and Quebec fixes, the new patch of razor then finished the "Road to Independence" Campaign(Had lots of fun, consumed about 24hours straight of my life). Can anyone please help me with a problem with the save games? I pla **** the Grand Campaign using Great Britain and saved and quitted after 15turns... but when I was about to play again, I couldn't load the file... I tried the Continue Campaign and Load game and also tried creating a new campaign and then load the saved game but all of which lead to crashes to desktop (CTD)... I learned there's a Steam update(3/25/09) about the save game but this one doesn't need Steam and doesn't even need an activation key. So how do I download the update from Steam? I tried searching the net for solutions, like searching for Empire Total War Steam Activation Key, and found out it was a trojan and didn't continued and so this is the only place I can think of for help. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, btw I could load my "Road to Independence" save files.

I just bought a copy of this game. And, I have sad news for anyone who's wondering as to why this rip isn't working. It's because...the game is broken. I'm serious. It's f'ed... It should have never been released. They're going to be patching this POS until the end of time. Go ahead and download it. But, don't be surprised if it doesn't work properly.

Not as much people get on as they used to because the game is kind of old and you might be turned off when you see the graphics but the game effects are superb and as far as strategy game goes, it just doesn't get any better than this. we really need more players online and everyone usually gets on at night around 8 pm - 12 midnight.

Agreed. Too much trouble with this version. Installs completely using MagicDisc, but missing "empire.exe" so you can't even run the program.

All this crap about this game is not Razor's fault.
People that bought the game (like me) also have the same kinds of bugs with sound and campaign crashes.
The game is released like that - unfinished and sloppy. Shame for the developers!

How do I extract these files???

Installs fine...a bit differint than most tho...
1.use winrar to unrar the .iso's
2.mount dvd 1 and dvd2
3.instal,when it asks for disc one somthin...browse and go into the mounted iso and select file...repeat this until installation is compleat
4.copy razor's files into the game directory the .exe,data folder,.etc
5.play your new copy of Empire total war

empire.exe is missing and I can't install game .
If someone fix this problem ,share with rest of us ,please?

try that link, everything is there, the updates are also posted there. just follow instructions. and you'll be fine. you shouldn't depend on others too much, try using google, remember that google is your friend. when i installed this, i also applied a new crack, soundfix, two fixes in the mission and two updates from steam which i got from that link. after that, everything runs smoothly, your saved games are also fixed if you play the grand campaign.

if i download the update and apply i get an error about a mismatch.
if i reinstall and dont apply crack and try update i still get error?

I am only able to run it on low settings because of my PC, but no problem with the install. Works great!

The installition stops all the time, Sometimes when it ask for cd1 a file or cd2 for a file.. I dont know why, Trying to do two different things, The first mount with daemon tools, and the second with MagicIso and exatracted to mine Temp folder and both shows the same.. Someone have same problem or tell me what to do next?

I succeeded to install properly the game, but I don't have any text in the game !!

This is a good pirate copy of Empire Total War. It is working. The problem is that this is a rare game so it is worth buying 30euros no problem to enjoy it properly. Buy it.

I'm not familiar with Razor's work, but the installer for this is kinda messed up. The installer crashes halfway through reading the second disc image, and it leaves you with an overlapped "second program list" within the root list of the start menu, instead of just creating a single ETW link with all the relevant file shortcuts (executables, etc) plus the start menu entry for the game isn't even there anyway. I'm not flaming against Razor or anything, if he/she has a good rep, that's great and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, I'm just saying what happened with me with this particular download...
