I downloaded a UIF image of the program's installation disc and burnt it onto DVD with MagicISO. Only problem is it wont let me install the program - it keeps returning an Installer Alert at the install/progress stage - "Please insert Adobe InDesign CS3 to continue installation."
Should I have labelled the disc anything specific to make this work for installation? Cant understand how Im getting that message if its an image...
Any help hugely appreciated.
Regards,
Dave
after you downlaoded it, and extract it with magiciso.. DON'T, I MEAN DON'T burn it on a dvd! Just run the setup from you computer and it will work.. trust me.. if not, email me: samsters4@yahoo.co.uk
When you are finished installing InDesign, replace the "InDesign.exe" that the applictation contains with this one.(in case you don't know, put the "public.dll" file in there as well)
And thanks for the help, xjch18 and MadIvan!
BTW, if you did burn the image on a dvd/cd then you can just copy the contents of that DVD/CD to (a directory on) your desktop and start the installation from there.
stops the splash screen just copy it into indesign dir
