It can be useful to cut the archive in multiple parts only when downloading from a ftp due to the risk of losing file if the connexion mess (if you use a very bad download software like IE).
But with Bittorrent this problem cannot occur.

If you feel the volume is too low, press CTRL+(up arrow key) until you get to a desired volume. It should go up till 400%. I usually do that to movies downloaded via torrents as the sound is regularly very low .
