I just did a clean install with this, cause i needed the service pack 2. I am positive there is something fishy with this one. I think the installation program has been tampered with. I have read some of the other posts and i discoved i'm not the only one. My advise is
DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS TORRENT!
I installed only a few programs like Firefox, Thunderbird and Skype (all quite reliable apps), not even newer versions than the ones i was running before. Still i get these annoying pop-ups. My computer is much much slower than before. I am no expert, but i know that THIS TORRENT CONTAINS A VIRUS OR TROJAN or something messed up.
This version will not work if you burn it to a CD and do a clean install. However, it will work under emulation (ex: Virtual PC). And when you run it in Virtual PC, Microsoft thinks it is genuine.
you are right. this has a trojan "KillDientes" packaged into it. my virus program popped up as my computer was burning this to a disk. research what "KillDientes" does. its a prog to backdoor into your system.
wierd...burned successfully to a CD, but if I try to do clean installation, Computer won't boot from cd, when I try to do upgrade Windows can read the CD, but computer freezes and I have to reboot.
I also burned it to a second CD incase maybe the CD was scratched up, but still same problem.

So you've been warned.
The last time i installed it, it worked by burning it to a CD... (burn Windows onto CD, boot CD, format, install Windows, it works :))
Well whatever, good release and it doesn't require activation!!
