this works great, fine on Vista, no nasties, activates basic to realplayer plus, audio/vid ctrls etc...kudos to uploader....

It's the basic real player, not the real player plus.

Do not use activation! It stops it from working.

funkguy is correct it is the basic player, the crack upgrades to plus version, unless you buy it online of course....however it sounds more like you may have reg entry errors, perhaps previous version of RP or other codecs have been corrupted or uninstalled UNcleanly.....the .NET framework may be skewiff when you tried to use it....I am not the uploader of this prog...but can guarantee it's 100% working on Vista HP SP1
