And does it matter if it isn't the very latest versions, as if we are going to know what they have fixed, its probably minor bugs probably to make the download speeds faster but who knows.

People use limewire because it's a good place to find things that aren't on bittorrent. Plus, once you've found something you like, you can browse the user's shared files and take what you like.
