the season has ended... but not completely...
each SEASON has approx 25 episodes, n this season coz of the writer's strike the show was off the air for 3 months....
3 months is equal to 12 episodes... till date 13 episodes have been aired, so if we sum up... we will get 25 episodes...
lets c wots FOX does 4 fans like us
The strike was against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), a trade organization representing the interests of 397 American film and television producers. The most influential of these are eight corporations: CBS Corporation (headed by Les Moonves), Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (headed by Harry E. Sloan), NBC Universal (headed by Jeffrey Zucker), News Corp/Fox (headed by Peter Chernin), Paramount Pictures (headed by Brad Grey), Sony Pictures Entertainment (headed by Michael Lynton), the Walt Disney Company (headed by Robert Iger), and Warner Brothers (headed by Barry M. Meyer).
so hold your breath till next episode
yes, prison break was schedualed for 22 episodes this season before the strike happened. most network shows got 22-25...but since the strike has happened, those episodes weren't written. it takes time to write plus time to shoot for new episodes to come out.
not very many shows have a backlog of episodes to air, unless they're animated. this is why all of the announcements for shows returning like grey's and gossip girl say 5 new episodes...because that is how much the networks are willing to support the shows. no one watches tv in the summer, so they don't want to extend for full seasons into june and july.
what all this means, and from what i've gathered from on-line sources, is that IF prison break comes back this season, it won't be for the full amount of episodes that were originaly planned in september. no one knows how many new episodes would be prodeced yet, but i imagine it would be around 5, like most other shows. and like the other shows, it probably won't return until april.
although, fox is kind of a crazy network that doesn't always go with the tends set by other studios, so you never know. thes are the sites i use to try and stay up to date. the first is a canadian entertainment page, so it might confuse those non-canucks out there a bit:
http://jam.canoe.ca/Television/
http://www.tv.com/
with all of that said, i'm in no way affiliated with any thing to do with the entertainment industry, so i could be very wrong. i just love tv and pop culture in general. so that's my best guess. hope it helps some of the fans out there!
"It's unclear how soon new episodes of scripted programs will start appearing, because production won't begin until scripts are completed, the AP reported.
It will take at least four weeks for producers to get the first post-strike episodes of comedies back on the air; dramas will take six to eight weeks, the AP said."
