I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but for some reason I can boot up to the log on screen, and it indicates that it is "configuring updates 3 of 3- 0% finished." It will sit for a few minutes, shut down, restart, and boot up to the same dialog while repeating the entire process over and over again without any progress.
Not sure if I should have updated or not. Will probably have to do another clean install. BE CAREFUL WITH THE UPDATES!

And I take back what I said about Service Pack 1, it says "1 day(s) until automatic activation. Activate Windows now." in blues letters under the Windows Activation section of the System window and when I click on it, it does nothing... It be soooo creepy if Microsoft FINALLY bested us and my computer implodes tomorrow... If you don't here from me then it probably deactivated it or it still works and I'm just lazy.
Please verify, i don't wanna download 3.5 GB's and then regret it, cuz the last version i've downloaded which is this one (Windows_Vista_Ultimate_permanently_activated_edition_x86_OEM.iso) included some bugs like: Internet Explorer icon doesn't appear on my Desktop, and you can't even add it by customizing your Desktop.

Edit: I'm answering my self. This version works perfectly 100%, plus Internet Explorer icon doesn't appear on the Desktop, and you can't even add it by customizing your Desktop, but the funny thing is that when i checked it's serial number with a program called SIW, it turned out that it has the same serial number of the version i've mentioned earlier which is : 2QBP3-289MF-9364X-37XGX-24W6P

and the download for this windows vista uses a bios emulation as from what i know it may not work in some notebooks or laptops which ever you want to call it and p.cs a dunno it might work its just your luck and might not . read into it b4 u download and just remember ONLY WORKS WITH CLEAN INSTALL!! NOT UPGRADES

I just would like try Vista and see how it works on my computer, i dont want waste my moneys for missing drivers.
Validation works. You -DON'T NEED- to activate it nor use serial during installation process - it's all done for you!
How I installed?
- Unpack archives with Winrar (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm)
- Burn unpacked image (I used PowerIso) on empty DVD (Name of the image: bievst86_28.iso)
- Put the DVD in.
- Restart Computer
- Boot up the DVD (you will see it)
- Make sure you wait LONG enough for it to run even if it will look idle. (about 5 minutes)
- Follow the installation proccess (It takes a while - it's Vista remember?)
- Done
Other Thoughts:
- Since I had XP installed, I installed Vista on a different partition and it works for me.
- Windows Updates work for me. My windows is still activated!
- I won't answer for any other questions. Since you get Vista for free, figure it out yourself.

oh, i've installed over 70 updates, and haven't had a hiccup. i'm using a 1.5gs Pentium, 40gb hard drive, fx 5200 video card, and only 768mb of memory and it boots as fast as it'll boot xp, so take that vista- bashers!
and, if you need a language pack, download it and then get your preferred language through the microsoft updates! it's easy and quick; getting the french language pack took only about 5 minutes.

yes, this is compatible with 32 bit machines, i built one for my friend and put this on there for him:)
solo836 , if you have xp it allows you to run it mounted, but i don't think that you can get it all the way installed, because it requires the pc to restart during install, so if you want to try good luck
