Lighting is a very important part of cinematography but it's NOT the same, composition, focal length, depth of field, even visual effects and others are also important in cinematography, to give you a better idea of what I'm talking about start by doing research on "mise en scene".

Braveheart is a good movie and the first time I saw it, it made me feel for the character, but just the first time, after the second time I saw it, I realized it is a girly movie, a good one but girly.
