Ok, so I'll ask a stupid question. Although it's a permanently activated version of the OS, is it still genuine? In a manner of speaking, can it be updated from the windows web site? Because if not, I'd rather spend the money and but the genuine product. Anyone had any troubles updating the software yet?

Trents responding to ur stupid question as u say, i installed this windows and it works perfect and it can be updated too, the only thing is that most of the programs doesnt have compatibility yet with vista.

yea ive downloaded vista ultimate b4 and i couldnt play any games and i mean any games at all i couldnt get imvu if i tried the computer would crash and when it loaded up it told me that this copy of windows is not genuine does this copy do it 2 plus i had 2 format my computer 2 get it off so i could play my stalker game.i have windows xp home and real copy 2.

just use the software ISOBuster to extract the image file...click on SETUP and after dat it works all by itself !! thanks to whosoever put it on the internet !! Just download dis every1...it really works !!

hotdudegautam..! No it's not true, u need a minimum of 1gb of RAM to run Aero effects and a video card of 128mb minimum. Before i installed Vista ultimate a had 512 RAM but i was force to put more memory because this windows consumes all ur memory now i've 1.5 gb ram and it works very good.

A logical question....If it consumes so much RAM and needs a so powerfull video card will the performance in the games be less???

Benchmarking was done comparing XP and Vista ( with DX10 ) no notable difference was found.
Resource consumption is only when you are using the OS but when you switch to a game automatic resource allocation is done and you can play the game w/o any decrease in performance.

**** o, I've just finished downloading this, and it doesen't seem to work. First, I opened it in PowerISO, that didn't work. When the installation screen showed up, and i pressed "Install Vista", or something like that, nothing happended. Then i patched it, and now, I can't open it at all (with powerISO). Please, help me :'(.

This is a complete, 100% fully working, updatable copy of windows vista ultimate. I was at first skeptical, but I just read everyone's comments and I am now using a fully working "genuine" copy of vista ultimate. It can be updated, and there are NO warnings about how you "have 5 days left to activate vista before we pwn you."

Follow these steps, as this is what I did:

1)Check to make sure your computer can handle vista by running the upgrade advisor, available on msoft's website.
2)Download the torrent. It is very large, but well worth it.
3)When the torrent is complete, use ISOBuster or other comparable program to "unzip the .iso file on to your desktop". In the folder that was put on your desktop, you should see setup.exe**.
4)Backup your files. THIS IS NOT AN OPTION unless you don't care about them.
5)Run the setup*, chosing custom install, and choose the equivalent of wiping your drive. I bet this torrent will work even if you choose to keep ypur files and settings, but I haven't tried it.
6)Congrats! You are installing vista, which will restart like 5 times to make sure everything's OK.

*There is NO KEY REQUIRED IN THE SETUP!!! It won't even ask you for one.

**DO NOT USE THE PPFOMATIC PATCH. It is completely unnecessary, and I did not use it. If you do use it, be warned that I haven't tried it, so no guarantees.

Camycrs, there is no "manufacturer" of vista, unless you mean Microsoft. IT doesn't matter what kind of computer you have, as long as it is 32bit and can run vista. seckelberry, he meant manufacturer as in Dell, HP, etc.
I read comments on another vista torrent that said the manufacturer was Dell so there was a dell logo in the "My Computer" properties screen.

Oh. In that case, the manufacturer isn't important. My logo in my system properties says dell, and I am running Dell, so it seems right for me... If you have an HP does it really matter if it says Dell in the my computer thing?

I performed the upgrade from xp on my laptop and it works great.
All i did was extract the files from the iso to a folder on my desktop.
Run the setup.
The setup made me uninstall daemon tools and nero first though.
Didn't use the patch.
I can't support Aero tho :'(

Is there a way i can install this right to the hard drive? like a freshly new formated hard drive? Because i dont want to install windows xp on my hard drive and then install this.

This seems really simple unless I'm not getting what you're saying. All you do is boot from dvd and do a fresh install and when it asks you for the disk you wanna install to select your hard disk. BTW for everyone out there incase you don't know this already if you have 2 drives in ur sysytem and one is ATA and other is SATA DISCONNECT the ATA temporarily until AFTER you install vista. Otherwise all boot info will be copies to ATA even if you select to install to SATA. any questions feel free to email me.

This isn't really activated because I've followed everything, but to find out yourselfs go to start menu, right click computer, and go to properties, and scroll down to where it says windows activation and unless it says windows is activated it's not because even if it doesn't ask for the product key it means someone has made it to install vista ultimate only, but not activate it.

when i upgraded to vista from xp with service pack 2 its activated
i tried installing a fresh copy but then it said it wasn't activated
right now im trying to:
1) install xp
2) upgrade to sp2
3) upgrade to vista

OK! so this is all you do- have xp sp2, and then install vista from xp!

im guessing overite, the file would extract, through poweriso, and the program with it, so i dont care about it, ill buy vista next yr, or just borrow it from friend

I've currently got XP Home + Ubuntu installed. If I download/run this, will I HAVE to format my entire HDD or can I select a single partition like normal? Is it even possible to have XP + Vista on one machine?

If you already have XP installed, all you have to do is run the setup. It will ask you if you want to upgrade to Vista or perform a clean install. Just select upgrade and it will install vista while keeping all your old files. I believe that it requires SP2.

I'm not interested in updating in case I choose not to use vista for any reason.

So can I choose where/how to install with this?

My copy works pretty good although I think there are a couple bugs in it and don't think this copy is fully functional. I'm trying to install a network usb adapter from belkin but everytime I install with the CD or from the website it says setup32 has stopped working and than cancels out the install. I have a valid copy of windows vista on my laptop and it installs and works fine. I have tried everything to get it to worked but nothing. Any ideas guys?

Works perfectly for me.
I didn't feel like burning to a disk, so i just mounted the image in alcohol 120 and followed instructions.
After the full install, I just deleted my old windows folder.

Ohh hey guys I'm soory for all the confusion nevermind I fixed it! I had a bad virus before installing this on XP and when I fixed it I ended up deleting some system 32 files before in XP and I forgot to reformat. So now I did with a new partion and installed back to windows xp than I installed this VISTA from a DVD I burned it to and guess what? My Belkin USB hub program installs perfectly! No more system 32 has stopped working error! So this IS really a fully working copy VIRUS AND TROJAN FREE! Although I do have a dell and I been hearing that it only installs on dell computers. Is that true? Because if not than Im going to upgrade my licensed Vista premium on my Toshiba to this VISTA Ultimate! So much better gotta love that Hold'em Poker Game! lololol

Just Installed this morning before day. This program is great! The torrent is real. No key needeed. My video card is not 64bits, but I have no problem. I burned the iso file with Active ISO burner which is free from download.com. I burned it on a dvd. I put in and click installed. It was fine. I went to sleep don't know how long it took. Had a little scare at the end when it stated error, insert disk (though it was already in), try again, or cancel. I clicked try again and everything worked fine. I did update. But didn't register. I would recommend doing that anyhow. But this works Great. I have a hard drive of 320GB and 2GB of ram and it runs very good. All of my programs and files were exactly the same just another operating system. You just have to adjust your settings as you chose. This really works, but make sure your computer is compatiable and you'll be okay. If its not make it compatiable. Enjoy.

Works great no problem and its genuine so u can update it too from microsoft without problems and also after its installed it will say Please insert disk just x it out idk why it does that but its 100% vista without any problems

in order to answer some questions i have seen... i dont know if there is the answar arround but here it goes:

i hvnt dlded this copy, but im gonna do it right now, i have installed previously a vista in my pc with a crack but i have major problems with internet explorer since it just cant open a LOT of pages, and if it does, they wont open again until u get on ur knees and cry to the compuet... well i hope its the crack so im downloading this version to see...

if u want to install vista and save files and u have 2 partitions just move all files to the non-windows partition and reboot with cd on, just boot vista and DELETE the windows partition (vista needs the partition to be deleted in order to install) there u go, u keep files and new windows (always remember vista advices to have atl east 15gb in the windows partition.. i would say about 25-30 due to new programs...) If you dont have 2 partitions just use partition magic or paragon partition manager, those are intuitive programs and really fine...
if u want to keep the installed programs... i really havnt done that but im guessing is with upgrade... i dont know how it works because my copy of vista dont admit upgrade...
