If a dub is good, I personally think you might as well watch the dub. There's plenty of crappy dubs out there, but there's good ones, too. Fma is very good in english, this has a pretty good english dub, Cowboy bebop has an awesome one, Outlaw star does, and a lot of other ones do.
This isn't a waste of time, but nor would be an english only one.
