This is not OFFICIAL RTM Release and with all you n00bs saying why it's here already, cause it's the torrent world where everything leaks (or cracked the MSDN version then released).

The Windows installed perfectly with no problem. It really is the final RTM release Build 7600... Its almost the same as the RC version, but a whole lot better than Windows Vista.
Just a few important instructions:
1. You cannot upgrade from Windows 7 Beta or RC to this RTM version. It has to be a fresh install.
2. Windows Vista users can very well upgrade it but it has to be from Windows Vista Service Pack 1. Vista without SP1 cannot be upgraded to Windows 7.
3. If, during UPGRADE, the installation lists a couple of pre installed programs which might not work with Win 7, just ignore it. These are minor compatability issues which don't even matter.
Finally, the startup time for this version of Windows 7 is SLIGHTLY more than the RC version, but heck who cares, its a fully activated version of Windows 7, no keys, no cracks required. Anyway once it starts its really quick. Much better than Vista, both in terms of space required for System files and RAM allocation.

x64 also known as x86-64 always means 64Bit first developed by AMD after 1995.
Here goes x64 story.
AMD Developed x64 Processor architecture based on x86(32bit) architecture of Intel.
AMD Leased x64 architecture to Intel.
Because giving architecture to Intel. Intel will lose licence of all its 64 bit processors technology if it stops 32 bit architecture and AMD too looses the technology if Intel stops 32 bit.
If it supports make sure the applications you normally use support 64 bit.
x64 OS Supports 32bit apps in emulation mode hence make sure applications are fully x86 and Win32 Compliant.
Check out whether your hardware has any lose connections or so. or check whether you have loaded too much softwares at start up.
Here are my specs of my laptop and desktop.
Laptop: Intel celeron 1.6 GHz(x64), 1.5GB DDR2 667MHz, 80GB SATA. No GRAPhics card
Desktop: AMD Athlon x64 3000+ 1.8GHz, 1.5GB DDR2 667MHz, 80GB IDE, Onboard NVidia 6100SE with 256MB Shared RAM.
Both are rated at 2.7 by windows rating still give basic performance I need(Aero enabled).
it may crashed due to 2 diff RAM's/freq/company...try to have all the RAM same company n DDR2 667MHz or your mother board may not be able to handle 4gb....

@Anth 64 bit is faster than 32...if your processor is a 64 bit processor then install 64 bit and install latest drivers(recommended)...min u need 2gb ram..coz its uses a lot of ram when compared to other versions...I have 2gb ram(256 shared) at the start up windows will be using 30-40 of ram n cpu 0%...
I have enabled windows update automatic...got few updates n dint install the optional language pack(34) no activation problem till now...windows media centre is awesome I have added all the movies I have in diff drives...It shows them in alphabetic order n in a line..choose which ever u like and watch it rather searching....although it would only display the name...I wish they make changes in this so that it would display the image of the movie...

Just Right Click on MyComputer and Click on Manage.
There go to Storage > Disk Mgmt.
Check there if there are any Unallocated space. Create your F: Drive in the unallocated space.
If any hidden partitions exists you may get it there.
Since it it is product from MS it may bug you about creating the drive.

I had win xp pro sp2 in D drive.
I installed win 7 x86 in c drive.....after installing I dont see a option to select win xp in boot......It directly boots win 7.
Any suggestions how to make it display or should I install win xp again?
BTW PLEASE DO NOT INSTALL POWERISO IN WIN 7........as Daemon tools wasnt working in win7 both x86 n x64 i tried powerISO for the first time it was working fine.....It was taking a lot of time n was sucking a lot of RAM i thought i will uninstall it....it told me to restart the system to complete the uninstallation after that I COULDNT GET IN TO WIN 7....LOGINUI.EXE/PROPSYS.DLL IS A BAD IMAGE this is the error I was getting...to install win 7 i had to install win xp in d first n then win 7 in c....I actually dint write the win 7(only had xp) :P....

Delete 3of 4 Drives and try to expand remaining drive.
If it doesn't work delete all drives and create a new volume with 160GB as size.
Even I have tried to fiddle with "Boot.ini" file but caused more trouble than solving the problem.
There also something called win xp mode in 7. Why don't you use that.

As far as my experience is concerned I don't prefer to dual boot 2 MS OS's. And I always install OS from a physical disk.
I dual boot MS only with Linux distro as linux gives access to program the GRUB loader.

If it doesn't boot to win 7. still then
check whether your harddisk is accepted in BIOS and BIOS Boot List has has your HDDdrive listed.
If you face trouble regarding "Windows 7 Startup" then Use the startup manager in Repair option available Win 7 Boot disk(somewhere buried at bottom of install window).

you need to burn the iso. even you can run it using Daemon tools or other software.
jaunt it seems that you are inexperienced in OS installation. This installer contains both the versions. 32 bit as well as 64 bit.
If your comp has vista 64bit then it upgrades to 64bit win7
and for 32b/x86 vista it upgrades to 32bit win7.
x86 always means 32 bit.
x64 or x86-64 always means 64bit.

You can keep windows XP in 1 drive and install Win 7 another drive.
You need to select "clean install" in setup.
No need of additional service packs. service packs are there to keep OS intact from Virus attacks and other problems only.
Well 32 or 64 bit is based on the system. 64bit is faster because of large instruction size.
To determine whether your system is 32 or 64 bit install CPUZ(32bit version) on system and run it.
In first tab you get a area called Instruction set check whether it has anything like AMD64,x64,x86-64,EM64T. If it is there them it means your system can accept 64bit OSes.
If your system has Vista x64 SP1 you can Upgrade to WIn7 x64.
If your system has Vista x86 SP1 you can Upgrade to WIn7 x86.
For SP2 it has failed to lot of people.

64 bit means instruction take 64bits.
All the instructions will have 2things:
1.>a instruction name: name of the operation to be performed(Ex. Copy,Paste etc.)
2.>parameters: data to be acted upon.(Ex. C: Drive, D: Drive)
or
1.> Burn the image to Disk using Nero or Windows Native burn.(Dont burn ISO File as a whole as data disk. Open the ISO using nero and nero will burn it to disk.
(Note: In order to Upgrade you need to have Vista SP1 only. SP2 gives error.)
2.>For upgrade Run the CD from Vista and follow on screen instruction. If CD Doesn't auto run open the CD Drive of your system and run Setup.exe

buddy if u have win vista service pack 1 then u can simply upgrade ur windows vista to windows 7.... with the option of upgrade u can roll back to vista any time u want to.... bt if u don't have service pack 1 then u have to custom install it.... the win 7 creates another folder named windows.old in ur windows directory if u wish to install win 7 to the same partition of ur windows vista....

If your processor load is staying @ 100% uninstall any auto update softwares or some startup programs.
Just have things necessary @ startup like "Antivirus Program, Firewall", "Hardware, Display, network, Sound Drivers", and the things necessary for computer to operate fine.
Its not good to have 10,20 startup programs. Make sure your active processes running @ startup is always less than 55.
After clean install of Win 7 only 35 process will be running @ windows startup.

But after installing windows 7, I am using avast free home edition. I did not get any virus warning in the system file :-)
Daemon is not good idea. You need to write it down in a new dvd and try. It will work
i have the 64 bit, choose the 64 bit and it says it's not compatible...
i'm running mine off of a burned dvd.
-u want a fresh install or an upgradation?
-if u want a fresh install then the windows 7 needs atleast 5 to 6 gb of free space in the partition u want to install it. but then u'll have two OSs after the fresh install. one is the previous one and the 2nd is of course win7 ult. but for fresh install u need to download the drivers for the functionalities like facerecognition or fingerprint reader, etc etc. and again u have two OSs in ur PC since it cannot overwrite or format the partition in which u choose to install.
-now the 2nd option is to upgrade. for an upgrade u need to have windows vista Service Pack 1. service pack 1 is available in http://microsoft.com. so if u have Service pack 2 then also u can upgrade to windows 7 but the best upgradation takes with Service pack 1. Upgradation retains all the features that were existing in the previous OS; ie Windows Vista SP1 or above, like even ur antivirus need not be installed again. its that good. and this version is activated already and its genuine. so u can download updates from microsoft.
- now how to install. two options. since this is an .iso file u need to either write it on a dvd or the better option is to install daemon-tools software (its a freeware available with http://www.daemon-search.com/startpage). after installing the daemon-tools in ur tray a daemon-tools icon comes. open the iso file with this. after opening install it. and follow the options that come.
- x86 means 32 bit version... x 64 means 64 bit version..

its not possible for this file to be 1 TB ,what software are you using to burn , i used power ISO and the disk space with iso image was 3 GB something , try burning with power ISO or magic burner .....
Faced no problem with the image. If you know you can even use the pen drive +4GB to install the windows without using the CD/DVD. You need to make bootable pen drive and copy the complete image directory wise from the image.
I used the above process as my dvd burner is messed up. I found USB installation is faster.

However, I'm now getting a problem where anytime I try to install a new program it says my disk structure is corrupted and that I need to run chkdsk. Well, I've run chkdsk and it says everything is fine. It still kept giving me problems. So I reinstalled the entire OS again and still getting the same issue.
The disk is fine, I know it. So anyone have any ideas?
Also, I've updated to the Windows 7 NVIDIA drivers, but everytime I try opening a video/picture/etc. the screen freaks out and messes up. Usually it rights itself within 10-15 seconds, but not always.
If anyone can help me out with either of these problems I'd be eternally grateful and I'm sure the good karma would enrich your life immensely. :D

Yes you have to use an ISO burning software to put it on a normal DVD. Eg: Alcohol 120% It should work.

This OS is working. But beware of compatibility problems in certain programs. If you do face an issue of it crashing, try modifying the "compatibility mode". The OS is a marvel. Took me about 19 hours to download, got slower past 80%. Installs without bothering you much. You can upgrade or fresh install, I chose to upgrade and seem to have lost nothing from my Old Xp Pro. Took about 48mins to install. As you can see, it's in an ISO format, so mounting it as a virtual drive to view contents is good, while burning the Image on a disc to run it off a DVD is recommended. That goes to say I've burn-tested the image and it works just fine.

Use Magic ISO or Nero to burn it to a DVD then run that DVD.
I installed without internet connected and it's gradually getting closer to the time needed to activate it.
Don't download this unless you find a working patch, as it will expire. If I go to the activation page in system properties and click to activate, it says the product key is invalid and asks whether I want to buy one!! Does anybody have something to crack this version of Windows? Will one of the generic activators work?

ppl who are still downloading can confirm this after a fresh install and then try to use windows update tool to see if it picks up any updates from ms site.
microsoft has very much improved the genuine windows detection since XP. You might have an activated vista/win7, but it will connect to ms site and check if the key that was used has been blacklisted.. and then revoke your activation. Of course ms will be watching these torrents and blacklist the keys that have been leaked.
So find yourself another torrent, possibly with less no. of downloads but confirmed they are genuine.
Question: Can I dual boot with this? XP/Window 7? Only cause I wanna keep my XP till I upgrade my computer, then windows 7 all the way.

Vista/win7 detects XP bootloader so no issues. XP installation doesn't detect vista bootloader and overwrites it. That's why u need to install XP first or you'll have to use repair vista's bootsector utility later.

Well to work in good mood with windows try to fresh install on making a new partition this way window will make a hidden 100 mb partition for recovery etc purposes.
To work with windows it is enough to have 12 GB Partition But to work at best you must try to allocate 30 GB to C Drive.

Yes it is the FULL RTM release .....
1. As far as I know the retail and the RTM are exactly the same thing. Why is the Retail over $100 more than the OEM?
2. As far as I know, both OEM and retail versions of Windows Ultimate do not combine 32-bit and 64-bit with options to install either or. You have to get either 32-bit or 64-bit. Was there some sort of release that we don't know about that includes both 32 and 64 with options on choosing which one you want to install? If not, then this cannot be an unaltered copy of the full rtm release.

This issue can be caused by any of the below reasons.
1.Corrupt boot files on the computer.
2.Settings for hard disk drive are not correct.
3.Floppy diskette or CD in computer causing issue.
4.Boot devices not set properly.
5.BIOS corrupt or misc. setting not set properly.
6.Connections loose or disconnected.
Soulutions:
Corrupt boot files on the computer
If the computer has no bootable files on the drive it is attempting to boot from it is possible that the computer may halt at " verifying dmi pool data..."
To resolve this issue:
•Boot from a bootable floppy diskette. Ensure that this diskette was made on the same Microsoft Windows operating system that is installed on your computer.
•Once at the A:> prompt type "sys c:" and press enter. This should report the message "File system transferred." Once transferred remove the diskette and reboot the computer.
If the computer continues to not boot attempt to re-create the master boot record by booting from the bootable floppy diskette again. Once at the A:> prompt type "fdisk /mbr" and press enter. This should return you to the prompt without giving you any message. Once at the prompt remove the diskette and reboot the computer.
Additional information about the "fdisk /mbr" command can be found on do **** ent CH000175.
Note: The above information only applies to Microsoft Windows users. If you are running a Linux / Unix variant or other operating system such as OS/2 and the computer is freezing at this DMI message ensure that Linux / Unix has been properly installed first and/or your boot manger is not corrupt.

I recommend a clean install, upgrades never are as good as a clean install.
If you make a clean install (starting outside/before booting vista, not sure otherwise), you will be asked about the partition you want to install it on and will be able to manage your partitions, including resizing/splitting/merging etc. (just installed it on a laptop with vista recovery partition, the recovery partition is still there, just leave it alone when changing partitions).
If you have a HP DVD for your laptop, you'll probably be able to get updates from the disc, but I'd recommend getting them via Windows Update or via the (HP) Website and other Websites in order to get the newest drivers/versions; Windows 7 includes an unbelievable amount of drivers though, I didn't have to install a single thing on this laptop I installed it on (Acer).
Keep in mind that many small partitions have a significant disadvantage, as they may vause trouble when downloading large files/torrents, and remember to back up all your important data as everything will be deleted if you perform a clean installation. Hope this helped. Good Luck & Enjoy!
One crap part is that you cannot update from build 7200(x64) to this version. The 32 bit one updates. so enjoy!!

Downloaded this and loaded it into my laptop using 32 bit upgrade, worked like a charm. Loaded it into a second laptop using 32 bit upgrade, again worked brilliantly. Tried to load it onto my desktop which is currently running vista 64 bit, using the 64 bit upgrade but it keeps failing on the initial check with two warnings, "you cannot upgrade 32bit to 64 bit" and "you cannot upgrade 32bit to 64 bit" ????? wont let me go any further. I am definately running Vista 64 bit so dont know what the problem is, has anyone else out there had a similar problem?

Dont worry if some programs (such as zonealarm) see this version as vista. i dont know exactly why it happens.
And as another one said it does not need any drivers (apart from some peripherals such as a webcam. I have one from creative and i had to download drivers from creative) .
In case you need a driver though or any program you may have to install, have in mind that the ones that work with vista work also for 7.

You must do something pretty "heavy" so that microsoft and the police get a warrant on you and send you to the dungeons!
Besides think of it another way. Had it not been for piracy, microsoft would NOT be the company it is now. How many of us are willing to pay a three digit amount of dollars or euros for an OS? Apparently NONE!! The result? Piracy made windows (and moma microsoft) FAMOUS (or infamous someone might say)!!

i had xp sp3 on dual core
and there where a few errors..but i needed to do was update all my drivers "motherboard etc.."
and it fully works this is worth downloading guys!! no joke!
i also download the another windows 7 torrent . and it didnt work...
but this has to be the best one so far and and all activated!
i have yet to find Xp mode but other than that i am really happy that this worked!!
if you do get an error like it will not go past a black screen with a flashing line. then all you need to do is install another os like xp or what ever CD you have then find out what company your motherboard is (msi etc)go to there website and update your drivers@!

I worked for HP as a technician and am certified by them ...
This RTM Release should have all the drivers you need, and then after install use windows update.

I'VE SOLVED THE CAUSES..
FOR ME.. REMOVED ALL WHAT'S ON YOUR USB: MOUSE, KEYBOARD, EXTERNAL HDD, BLUETOOTH ANYTHING THAT CONNECTS TO YOUR USB..
AND LASTLY GO TO YOUR BIOS (F2, DEL ETC.. WHICH IS ON THE START UP SCREEN WHEN YOU OPEN YOUR COMPUTER)
TO THOSE PEOPLE WHO HAVE CORE 2 DUO, DUAL CORE, QUAD CORE.. WINDOWS 7 IS HAVING PROBLEM ON SOME OF THE PROCESSORS LIKE THE QUAD CORE THAT'S WHY THEY WON'T BOOT UP AND STA **** IN THE BLACK SCREEN, YOU MUST DISABLE THE SECONDARY CORE WHICH IS LOCATED ON YOUR BIOS.. I DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHERE TO FIND IT BECAUSE WE HAVE DIFFERENT MOTHERBOARDS BUT MINE IS INTEL.. BIOS SETTING IS F2.. AND THE DISABLING YOUR SECONDARY CORE IS ON FIRST SCREEN OF THE BIOS SETTINGS..
I DON'T KNOW IF THIS WILL HELP YOU BUT I SOLVED MINE BECAUSE OF THIS, I TRIED DOWNLOADING TWO KINDS OF WINDOWS 7, AND BURN THE 1ST WIN 7 TO 2 DVDs AND STILL NOT WORKING, BUT ON THIS 2ND WIN7 (THIS TORRENT), I TRIED EXPERIMENTING MY BIOS.. AND POOOOOFF!!! IT'S WORKING NOW..

I downloaded the Windows 7 Ultimate AIO file yesterday. burnt it on a dvd and did a clean installation on my Quad core pc with 4 gig Ram.
NO ISSUES, NO SERIAL, NO ACTIVATION, WORKS PERFECTLY.
