Hey YoHo no special tracker but I have Fiber cabel 1500mb/s is good but usualy i reach 3000mb/s. I have DL it but did what the Readme says it opend BioShock and closed again, think my pc is to slow what u guys think: AMD64 Athlon 3000 2.1ghz,1Gb ddr2,Radeon 9200 512mb.

Krazed about the 6gig. This one is 6gig whene you unpack it with winrar so i think its a ISO or something.

Hope if u guys download this and have faster pc's me tell me about it zo i know it's a reason to upgrade or buy a new wan.

it isnt about ur comp...i have a AMD Athlon 1900+,512 mb ram and a GeForce 6200 256ddr2 64 bit and ive pla **** the demo in 800x600 medium and low detail and it runed pretty good...ur comp is much better so it should run a lot better

it´s a little strange.i can´t hear any vioces from the characters or the guy over the radio.+ most of all fx.can hear some sounds and those chopperturrets with chainsaw engines.

I did as the readme asked. When I execute the game I get a BioshockDL window that pops up that says:
A required security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed(9000).

I am experiencing a problem with this DL . when i try to run the decoder.reg file i get "invalid win32 application" warning and cannot continue . as most i see already have gotten this DL to work , i could use some help pls

Err. When I try to install the provided DirectX 9c it aborts the installation and refers me to an error log in the windows folder. How come it's not installing properly? Also, I can't start the game without completing the DirectX installation.

pls help me. i downloaded this and followed the instructions. The game intros come up, i can choose upto the new game option. Then i see the starting small clip (with the guy holding a cigarette and looking at his family picture). And after they show the bioshock logo, the screen goes blank. After a while windows tells me that the program has stopped responding and asks me to close it.
I have a Core 2duo 2ghz, 2gig ram, geforce8600m gt, configuration. Its my new notebook and am eager to start gaming on it. I really really wanna play this game. Can anybody out here help me out?
p.s. i tried the lowest resolution. the same happened.

prariedogger - no you do not have to extract the game every time you run it, it doesn't even install, it runs from wherever you extract it.

all others - Any issues you are having with this game running are local system-related. It DLs and runs fine, just LOOK AT THE README for how it works (does anyone read the read me??!!), couldn't be simpler. If you are having issues then it is your system, probably driver issues, so not much point posting here, search some forums.

When you start it the mouse cursor disappears! When you somehow manage to start the game without the mouse the intro starts and there is a man lighting a cigarette!
After that the game starts but textures are missing!There are no walls no floor i can just see some water leaking and fire! The game works but there are no textrues!

Game Works, had some trouble with securom detecting virtual drives, disabled all then removed from registry to get pass the error.
Seems to be playing well though having a few crashes.

Wow, took me just over 2 weeks to download this... probably the slowest torrent of this size I've ever downloaded.

I have downloaded 2 versions prior to this one and they didn't work as planned, but this torrent is working fine. Like loki **** baby said, just make sure you install the directx, the C++ program and the regestry file so you can start the game up. It's looking amazing :)

Works beautifuly. Just intall as it says in the readme file. Also, if you are using Vista, and have the sound cuts out after the plane crash, just right click on Bioshock.exe (the actual file, not the shortcut), go to properties, compatibility, and make it so that it runs in XP Service Pack 2.

----- NOW THIS IS IMPORTANT! -------

After that, unless you want the black sceen of death, go to the Bioshock shortcut on your desktop, right click it, and add -dx9 to the end of she shortcut. It should look like this:

"C:\Where ever you put the file\Bioshock\Builds\Release\Bioshock.exe" -dx9

Don't worry about the beginning part, just add the -dx9 afterwards. For some reason, running the file in XP mode while using DX10 causes black screens... :P

when i try and play i dont have a mouse. when i manage to start without it, a bunch of graphics are missing. it works fine on the plane part, but after that all i see is flames and darkness.

well i think i know the problem with the infamous black screen...it is the video cards, by default the games runs with a 3.0 shader model...i tried the 2.0 shader mod and i can see the water fire and plane, but im not sure if it is my card or if its the mod but ALOT of the textures are missing...and the load time is ridiculously long...if your willing to try it heres the link to the mod...if not, yea dunno...let me know if anyone has fixed the black screen bug =/

I downloaded it overnight, anyone with a slow download probably have a computer that dinosaurs used.

Oh well still no answer but ive solved my own problem ive been playing the game
7hrs straight without any crashes...the problem about the game when you run the bioshock.exe and nothing happens. what i did is... 1st. followed the "read me" instructions download the latest winrar driver and then about the darkcoder.reg when you double click it opens with a "note pad" but that is not the right way, right click the darkcoder.reg click the "open with..." and then "Browse..." Look in C:windows/regedit and then open the file that should do it. And about the crashes ive got that one too i have downloaded the latest patch for NVIDIA ive downloaded the beta patch but still it crashes "DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE BETA PATCH I THINK THATS THE REASON THE GAME CRASHES DOWNLOAD THE LATEST FULL ONE" and about "-dx9" thingy do it too...
And about my computer specs:
"Windows XP"
"Pentium D 2.8ghz"
"1.5gb ram"

Can anyone help me? I downloaded the game and at first everything was working fine. Then, about 3 minutes in after the plane crash the sound goes away. I'm aware that that is supposed to happen at that part, but the problem is the sound never comes back on. It stays mute through the whole introduction to Rapture where you are watching the little slide show thing. Can anyone help me??

I solved my problem (at last) and for the ppl that get this problem well the solution is tu update the driver of ur video card, thats what I did and now I can play fine no problems ^^

dude try shutting down some of vista's useless services that eat up the ram..vista eats gcard too x(
i hav 2 gigs of ram and 8800gtx and vista still makes crysis lag x( but some work in the service manager and now it flows like blood :)

I need HELP!!! I downloaded the game read the read me and followed to the t. I Click the Bioshock Exe. and it pulls up a bioshock labeled Rectangle after a minute or so of what i assume is loading time windows pulls up another screen that is blank with another dialog box that says

"Bioshock.exe has stopped working" >>while looking for a solution, then it says<< "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.Windows will close the program and notify you is a solution is found."

the only sound in the game(for now is the begginig of it(the movie)) but when i am controlling the characther i can't hear any sound can some one explain to me why this happens??

Please help me to install step by step. i don't have a clue how to do this.
