can somebody please help, after doing a clean install everything seems to work fine. it completely installs vista, then as soon as i log in for the first time it says shutting down...then reboots to this screen:

after that, nothing, it just hangs...i've tried dloading 2 versions of vista both with the same result

try unplugging ur game controllers and bluetooth devices ect.. and install with just the keyboard and mouse .... or it could just be your computer aint compatible

This is the best Vista torrent I've downloaded ever. It includes Service Pack 1, it's activated, but no DELL oem preactivation crap, it's a retail version that includes both x86 and x64 versions, and also has Windows Update working. Also it don't give error messages in vLite about OEM preactivation like other versions does. What else ? I changed my XP definitively for this Vista.

Maybe you have used a cheap DVD to burn it, or an RW DVD with problems. You are the only one from thousands of people who downloaded this torrent to complain about this. This version works great, it has SP1 integrated, has working Windows Update, etc. Yes, it has only English and Russian, because someone from Russia has integrated SP1 direct into installation files. All my software is in English including Windows, and I'm from Romania. It's so hard to learn some words ? "File, open, view, ...." :)

Yes, it is bootable. Every ISO with modern operating systems are bootable. Just choose in Nero > Recorder > Burn Image, and that's it.

because at the moment im using vista home edition with a bootable crack, and not all the time u can log into vista normolly? sometimes u have to restirt it several times, and i was thing about changing to Ultimate, since everyone are downloading this version.

the windows are allready activated (and yes its SP1)and the updates work fine.i have been using vista for 2 weeks and MS hasnt detected that my version is cracked.also yes you can dual boot with xp but you must have xp allready installed and install vista on a different hard drive.and beacause its ultimate version i think it requires at least 20 gigs(it doesnt take that much space but it needs to run smoothly)

I dont know how it was cracked, maybe is an retail version because there no OEM preactivation files in $OEM$ folder on ISO, I don't really care about this. All I know is that I have installed this version one month ago, it will update from WIndows Update, everything goes perfectly. No restart, no cracked BIOS, it works, that's all matter.

One Quick question. i have XP at the Moment and i wondering if it will delete my music and all the crap in my HDD if i install Vista Ult?

i dloaded this and tried everything i could think of to make the installation work but it allways tells me that the file installation.wim is missing or corrupt, but its not missing its right there, and nero didnt report any errors when i burned it. 2 times btw on 2 different dvds... its just not working for me. u can vote bad for this comment all u want, im not complaining....
maybe the dload went bad so MAYBE ill try to download again and burn yet another dvd but thats just MAYBE....

Alrite i downloaded this torrent burnt it tried installing it via "upgrade" not clean install and it didnt work when it installs it boots then a blue screen comes up for rougly a second then it restarts.....does upgrade work with this or do i have to do a clean install plz reply asap.

i was having problems because when my torrent client dloaded the iso it dloaded the file to my HD which was for some reason formated FAT32 (new comp so i didn't notice). But there was also a copy of the file on my other HD, the one with widows on it (in my downloads directory) and this HD is formated NTFS file system. the problem is that the installation.wim file in the iso file is more than 2 GB big and FAT32 file system does not support or cannot run single files that are this big... So, when you burn the iso from a FAT32 formated HD the installation doesn't work...

so you, and everyone else who's having problems with the actual installation should check this...

But i just want to add this,

although i succeeded to install and make vista work, now I'm having problems with vista running on my comp... Don't get me wrong - the torrent is GREAT but this probably has something to do with my comp.
the OS seems to lag frequently just for a second, for instance when i play music files and video files or when i type text... i installed drivers and codecks for everything, but still the same problem... and i cant see my CD-ROM in windows explorer, and i know for sure that the ROM is fine because BIOS is registering it...
the thing is i have a lap top - Acer Aspire 9804WKMi and i think there is a problem with vista compatibility. But again, it says 'Windows Vista Capable' on the lap top...

i really cant figure out what's wrong so if someone has an idea please say something! :)

you need BootMagic or a similar program to dual boot i think... But you would need to install Vista on a different HD and not on the one where you have XP installed...
I think it's better to install Vista clean and only use Vista on your comp...
This ultimate version is great as I said before...

It works perfect for me! I had problems at first but that was because I didn't get informed about proper burning and driver downloadinstallations...
I fixed everything now and Vista is running smoothly and without any problems!

I'm going to verify the torrent as clean and high quality and will seed for months... ;)

It worked for me and for 99.9% of us. Recommandation. Always do a clean install, not upgrade. I don't know why for you is saying about those 30 days before activation, in my case I only saw WINDOWS ACTIVATED, every time I installed it. Maybe you are just unlucky.

You are not alone in your quest for a working SP1 Vista Ultimate running on a dimension 5150 pc, with a 3.06 ghz HT P4. I have the same problem. I download a few Iso's from time to time, that claim they are activated, and have used them on other systems with success. Our Dell's just dont take though. The only option presently is to mod the bios. I am just going to wait it out. I put XP Gold Cobra back on my machine. I really enjoy the features of Vista, but after reinstalling XP on my machine, unless you never play FPS, or any game for that matter...Vista is a bad idea. I used Warcat drivers with both os', and XP normally runs 40fps faster than Vista. What I am getting to is this..Why bother? Is it for the Glass effect? The Aero experience..lol? Extra visual effects are nice, but in the end if you are going to be upset with your PC's performance I would definately choose performance every time.

UIF files are compressed cd images files with MagicISO. Use MagicISO to open them and convert to ISO.

after installing this software on my dell , pentium 4, with windows xp professional , my computer becomes blank for hours , i installed vista x86, now my pc is in blank and im using the other computer, plus im also didnt burn this software to dvd but directly extraact the iso file and click setup.exe after finish downloading and i installed it as an upgrade...

@skyrem0----> You must already know(or dont) that u dont ever install an OS without the disk inside because boot wants the disk of os to continue.

Yes, maybe it is although i aint download it yet to see..but some crack must be integrated in to it (cause people said that is activated).Now for those who cannot install this copy i'd say it is something wrong with dell mobos and crack of these windows. Gigabyte etc. are more flexible mobos.

So, mammaxim you have to give it a try. if u wont find any luck i guess u have to download other ultimate copy. But..i always say about laptops story that is complicated. I mean, any changes to OS or hardware done against constructor's without much experience, perhaps your machine becomes unstable or yet ready for service. Thats cause between desktop pc and laptop there are obviously many many differences.

so replicant28, does my pc blank because i install setup.exe directly from my pc, not from a disk??

That's correct skyrem0, burn the software to a disc and reinstall it. Do not send your pc for repair until try this (trust me). Your pc is blank because of bad installing. You welcome m8. And yeah, i believe too that this is the best vista ultimate.

OK as of June 19, 2008, the torrent works. You just dl the torrent, dl nero trail version from the nero website. Then you go to "recorder" then "burn." You have to proceed in that specific order(there are other steps to get to that point, but you have to go where "recorder" is a tab on the top. Iono why, but when I tried other pathways, it created disks but none that were bootable. Anyway, once that is done, create a partion with enough size to accommodate vista ultimate. I have 300 gb in my hard drive, I allocated 100 to new parition just for vista. I forgot the program to create a partion but I think it was gparated (someone mentioned it earlier). Anyway, simply boot with the disk and start up vista. x86 designates 32 bit, x64 designates 64 bit

i have a core 2 quad 6600, NVIDIA 8600 & Intel DG33TL MB. i have a Vista Ultimate installed without service pack. Yet Games like NFS Carbon Most Wanted start and crash immediately. No game works fine. Right now only Ghost Recon 2 & NFS Pro street are working somehow. Can this Vista resolve this problem.

Installation of Office and other software from torrents should not be a Problem on Vista , or is it that some caution is required as the Brochures (with Dell)of Windows Vista , warns strongly against it.. , tha t Windows can detect and Black Screen your systems

aces27. I'm going to bet you're going to end up with a bunch of problems getting vista to work on your dell. Unless it's a bit newer.

If you have your dell CD's and DVD's you'll be able to restore back to factory, granted vista doesn't make your computer explode. haha. it shouldn't. don't worry lol.

You might be able to run some of the dell software on vista, but i have doubts that all or most will.

It will burn and boot to a dvd. That is, if you use an ISO burning software like Nero, Alcohol 120%, etc. If you just but the ISO file on a disk, it wont work. I don't know your tech understanding, so i put that in there as a note in case you didn't know.

My advice. Research what hardware you have in your dell system. Check com **** bility with vista...
or **** , just back up the stuff you want to keep on your drive, try installing and see what happens.

I'm downloading vista as well, so it'll be new for me, too. Though i'm not on a dell system. i built mine myself.

hi! Everything works perfect with me on install, but wen the instalation is at the end (configuring the computer or something) i have a black screen and nothing more appends... Just before that black screen some strange characters appear on screen for seconds :p can someone help please? ive tried to unplug everything and the same appends even the internet. Dami3n i have downloaded all the latest drivers. NFS carbon could be run only when made compatible to win 95. but still it crashes after a run for sometime in a race. the menu for customization and other things runs fine its only when i start racing it crashes.
The other issue is i can install XP only without Graphics card with the card plugged XP gets hanged every now and then.

So far as I can tell, this is the full retail release of Vista SP1, not a prerelease candidate that will time out. Installed for evaluation purposes on two computers successfully, HOWEVER: 1st custom computer w/ ASUS mobo worked fine. Passed MSFT Geniune Advantage, updates, etc. Running for a couple months now. But, 2nd computer w/ DFI mobo, installed fine, etc., ran OK for maybe a couple weeks, but now is saying I have 30 days to activate. Legit copies of Premiere CS3 and Roxio 10 are installed, and I've read that sometimes the update features of some programs can deactivate windows. Have not tried to reactivate. What should I do?

My bad... after all ive put this to work ^__^ i think it was i had XP installed with service pack 3 before. ive format the disk, installed XP againg but with no updates, and run the setup from vista DVD. Maybe it was just luck i dont know...

hi i have some network issues with this vista64. Sometimes it cant find internet connection sometimes it cant find the router and usually it cant find other computer on the network(which is running xp sp3). Its just randomly changing its mind about the connection and network state. Is this usual vista issue or is it some specific problem?
also i installed it after xp sp3 on a separate hd but after the installation when i try to start the windows xp it says that there is missing or corrupted file: system32/ntoskrnl.exe

x64 bit is for only 64bit processor, these processors are all P4 and above (incl. Dual-core) not sure about AMD processors. If you want to make this bootable, you must burn it specifically as a bootable ISO otherwise it wont work.

Does anyoe know where I can get a patch to get the DELL OEM logo, I have DELL comp.

I would reccomend you have atleast P4 to install VISTA

Installed today works like a dream no probs however it did go into grub4dos! So be cearful if you are a newbi, I only just got it! and only because I had a Recovery disk I got it going!! so download one anyway just to be one the safe side!

Okay, so, ive made 2 burns with this, on reliable DVD discs. Ive used nero to directly burn to DVD. I then tried a boot install. it starts loading, gets to the first screen where the mouse is available, and hangs. doesnt do a thing.

I made an attempt to try it from windows XP. i selected the 32 bit version first (x86) and it froze up. i tried the 64 bit version second (i have a core 2 duo 2.5ghz) and it hangs AGAIN.

so i made a SECOND dvd burn, on a blank disk, and tried the above process over. same results.

Obviously some people have had some amazing successes with this, but i havent managed it. its obviously a problem on my side. anyway, could someone please help me? :/

You need to burn this image at 4x on your DVD burner. Or else you'll get a bunch of errors. The version I got on mininova was perfect. NO PROBLEMS.
