buddy if u have win vista service pack 1 then u can simply upgrade ur windows vista to windows 7.... with the option of upgrade u can roll back to vista any time u want to.... bt if u don't have service pack 1 then u have to custom install it.... the win 7 creates another folder named windows.old in ur windows directory if u wish to install win 7 to the same partition of ur windows vista....

@ neeraj yes u can burn the image onto the disc.... and it will remain a bootable disc....

its not true ur machine is not permanently activated..... after doing the procedure above/.... it shows 3 windows..... chek the biggest windows and then chek its evaluation end date.... is must b showing sum end date of june or july 2010....... and at ur desktop is it showing evaluation copy.... just above ur clock....?? (Right hand side bottom clock)?
