Oh yeah, a clean install is recomended, so if you value anything in your computer that isn't recoverable after you wipe your OS and format your hard drive, I suggest you back it up with an external hard drive, CD/DVD disk, or other forms of storage. Ipods and other MP3 players should work if you want to backup your files in those. Flash drives and SD cards are also good storage.
I will say now, IT HAS TO BE A CLEAN INSTALL OF WINDOWS XP!!!!
You must use DVD-RW burning software, such as MagicISO or Alcohol 52% (or 120%). I recomend MagicISO since you can pirate/find it using Torrentz, and it works better than anything I've used (including Nero). For noobs, keep in mind that you must OPEN THE ISO WITH MagicISO, NOT (I repeat) NOT drag the ISO INTO THE PROGRAM. YOU WILL NOT BURN IT PROPERLY IF YOU DO THIS. You have to OPEN IT BY GOING TO FILE > OPEN, and then you will have to browse for your ISO file.
After you burn it, you must restart your computer with the disk INSIDE. If it isn't inside, then it will start with whatever OS you have on your computer (Windows). If you have the disk inside and it still doesn't boot with your disk, then hold the ESC button when you see the BIOS start-up screen until it gives you the option to boot from the disk. If THAT doesn't work, then you may have to configure your BIOS so that when you hold ESC, you will be given the option to boot up with your disk. If that doesn't work, I would say you're **** ed as far as bootable disks are concerned, or you didn't burn your disk the right way.
