Very likely. Having seen SDF:Macross before ever hearing of Robotech, and knowing how Robotech was made, I always felt a certain amount of disdain for the series, something along the lines of: "butchering 1 Anime series wasn't enough for them? They had to do 3 at once?!?", and swore to myself that I would never watch it. However, the sheer quality, and amount of thought that obviously went in to making Shadow Chronicles caused me to re-evaluate this opinion, thus bringing me to this page in the first place.

For the movie to sway even a die-hard "pure Anime" fan like myself (I only ever watch Anime in subtitles, never Dubbed versions), it must truly have a great deal going for it, and I believe it would be a serious mistake for them not to continue it into a series.

This could very well lead to a Robotech revival that would no doubt greatly please fans of the original, as well as introducing a "new Generation" (pardon the pun) to the series, as well as the joys of Anime in general.

Now here I have to disagree slightly with Enyira. Although 'Robotech' is solely an American show (you will not find a Japanese Anime named Robotech anywhere), it was made using stock film from three different Japanese Anime's.

The first part of Robotech, dubbed 'the Macross Saga', used footage from the Anime 'Super Dimension Fortress Macross'. The Americans simply rewrote the dialog to suite their purposes. If you would like proof of this, I invite you to view my Veoh.com profile (StarfuryMS) where you will find I have uploaded the entire 36 episode run of SDF:Macross.

As for the other 2 parts of Robotech, they were originally 2 completely separate Anime's, unrelated to each other, although I cannot for the life of me remember their names. The American company that made Robotech simply saw a number of similarities between the 3 shows, and decided to 'shoehorn' them together to tell one large story.

Thus was born Robotech.
