If you experience a low framerate (especially on a good rig), disable some of the HID devices from device manager in control panel. (don't disable the mouse, keyboard or gamepad)
I went from 10-40 frames to 30-100+ frames having everything maxed.
The person who created the torrent had a corrupt rld-rota.r05 (has a gap)
It's not your bittorent client to blame. You need to download rld-rota.r05 from another place.
I compared this to AonE's encode. This one contains more detail, although the subtitles aren't as pretty. Also starting with the end credits the quality is noticeably decreased.
Very good torrent. Video quality is from 7 to 9. But most important is that all of the encodes are dual audio.
Slayers was a pretty fun anime to watch.
I watched the series by release date.

Scene releases are for the scene. They weren't meant to be released on bit torrent.
The only reason why Axxo gets all the noobs downloading is because he made it as easy as possible for them to download... and there are also a lot of people hooked to things like 700MB and xvid that plays in your dvd. Axxo releases for the public, he isn't competing with the scene. There are no rules here.
Nowadays every major movie is encoded and upped to bt by many, many encoders. I always download the best version I can find. But some people only download the first thing that pops up in the search. They just want to get the movie, and get it fast.
I really doubt scene groups want they encoded out in the public for everyone to download... unwanted attention.
Even if Axxo re encoded the movies from scene releases, I wouldn't care much. But still, I refuse to believe re encodes could look that good. Just stop the basing, it ain't doing anyone any good. Let the noobs download what they want.
English subtitle for the Japanese stream (the one in the torrent is for the English dub... and it's hearing impaired)
http://www.opensubtitles.com/en/subtitles/3258517/tonari-no-totoro-en
Good stuff... but I would say whoever compiled this went a little overboard with the bitrate... about 20kbps vbr mono. (it's only speech but we're starting to talk about voice distortion here... I have these interviews around 4GB). But if you can't find them elsewhere and the quality doesn't bother you then go ahead.

Video quality could have been better for H264. (it's about the same as xvid... smaller file size though)
I would say about 8-9 video. Anyway, worth the download, thank you.
Video quality not all that great, I wouldn't have downloaded this copy had I checked how long this movie was.
Video: XVID 720x288 25.00fps 491Kbps
Audio: MPEG Audio Layer 3 48000Hz stereo 128Kbps
The video bitrate is a little to small for xvid but the quality turned out acceptable nevertheless.
The real disappointment was when I found out there was a director's cut... 210 minutes instead of the 156 minutes this one had...
Go for the 8GB 720p director's cut encode! The movie's totally worth it.
"001,035,038 - English Subbed, Japanese audio and video
024,027-034,036-037,039-065,067-077,080-083 - Dual (Japanese+English) audio, Japanese Video
002-023,025-026,066,078,079 - Only Japanese audio and video
Be careful while watching episode 38.
Video Resolution 640x480
Video Codecs:
- All Japanese RAW's - MS-WMV9
- All Subbed Episodes - XviD
- All Dual-Audio Episodes - FMP4 (some kind of XviD)
Audio Codec: MP3"
I really hate that I can't find anything consistent...
If I get the dubbed english versions I don't have 18, 35, 38.
Here I can have some subbed, some dual audio and some nothing... I would have to search for matching subtitles... sigh
All I wish is some non edited japanese episodes and matching subtitles... oh well... another time...
I saved this torrent... ha ha
It was stuck at 99.9%... one 64KB piece missing. Luckily I found an almost identical copy using google. I synchronized the id3 tags... almost there... 2 more differences between the files. Next... total commander, split, combine, split combine and voila... I got the exact file without the missing 64KB. Enjoy :)

I recommend getting the latest patch

And also a nocd from gameburnworld.
This expansion isn't standalone.

Any person that makes another dvdrip after after a scene release, just makes a re encode.... is that your master theory?
Let me guess... Newartriot re encoded this movie as well, right? In h264, wow he must also be upscaling the resolution huh...
Grow up.

If I understand correctly from the nfo the dvds contain these episodes.
dvd1 (La noche de Walpurgis)
* Ep 1 - School of Black Magic
* Ep 2 - Ceremony of Black
dvd2 (La noche de Walpurgis)
* Ep 3 - Sacrifice of Black
* Ep 4 - Caress of Black
dvd3 (Origins)
* Ep 1 - Hallmark of Black
* Ep 2 - Altar of Black
dvd4 (La noche de Walpurgis)
* Ep 5 - Dinner of Black
* Ep 6 - Descending overlooking of Black
All should have jap + eng audio and eng subs.
It doesn't contain Bible Black Only and New Testament.

I though it was a load of fun.
It's more of a teen movie... something like american pie.
Anyway, just enjoy it, don't compare it with the first one.

You can also get quicktime and real alternative there. All you ever need to play movies.
7z is an archive type... probably winrar can handle that as well.
I prefer downloading either group releases or iso/bin/mdf
