Amazing video quality but i'm not sure my ears could take the tinny staticy onslaught that is the audio. With such a huge difference in the A & V it's a real shame this isn't watchable.
this is not the second part of episode 8... its just completely different. looking at the episode list they aren't going to return to the episode 8 "we're all about to die" episode.
Alan Davies discovers that answering that question is much harder than he originally thought. Alan visits mathematician Marcus du Sautoy to help him find an answer. However, this creates more questions, which requires a trip to a place dedicated to measurement, the National Physics Laboratory. Finding out the exact length of the string proves even more troublesome when Marcus proposes the string could be infinitely long, thanks to the theory of fractals. After leaving Marcus, Alan visits a physics teacher to see if measuring the string in atoms can help him find an answer. However, this means exploring Quantum Mechanics. Alan goes to a lab to explore the theory of Quantum Mechanics in more detail to see if his string can be in two places at once, confusing him even further.
Still no closer to an answer Alan is introduced to the theory that his string may have multiples lengths at the same time, all with the help of a stuffed cat.
Alan doesn't believe Quantum Mechanics is important on a basic scale, but photosynthesis and the ability to smell might just change his mind. If Alan was to find the most accurate way of measuring his string he could theoretically create a black hole. Trying to find the solution to this question has been a philosophical journey for Alan, but he still visits Marcus du Sautoy to tell him his personal answer.
Is this movie title american spelling or is it just for the movie? @Maverick83, the director left off subtitles in places so you get a feeling of how the person who can't understand the language feels (so you relate to the characters). This movie has subtitles hardcoded. Thanks FxM, I hope the quality is worth the extra 200mb of my monthly quota!
Looks like it has a similar story line to SG-1 S04E16 "2010" but in the form of "earth final conflict" with a much improved budget. It may not be very original but it's just fantastic to see great visuals and decent characters back in a SCIFI show. I hope this isn't on at the same time as SG-U or Syfy will be pi$$ed.
I have:
P4 3.0ghz
1Gb 9400GT graphics card
3Gb RAM
Windows XP SP3
And it runs like poo. 1 fps. and thats with everything on lowest (640x480 res). I recommend not downloading this unless you have at least an ATI 4850 or NVIDIA 9800 or similar.
(p.s. if it's not working, install the directx from the disk)
brilliant. updates with the latest patches no problem. however it did take me a while to find another crack to make work as a standalone game (kept asking for C&C3 original) because the crack included didn't work (XP SP3).
