Simply put any would be authority tracking your activity would be able to log your IP address static or dynamic along with the date & time. If & when the information was requested of your ISP they would be able to provide said authority with your information regardless as they too log information, such as which IP address is assigned to which device and at what time.
Additionally, look at the nearly unfathomable volume of downloads and compare with the relatively tiny amount of people who are actually prosecuted for such offenses. The chances of some ominous enforcement monster singling you out and tracking you down is, well let's just say you'll probably have a better chance of winning the lottery.
If you really think about it the downloads do not hurt sales anyway. As word of mouth is the best advertising when people download a movie they tell people if it's any good, some of those people go out and buy the movie. The sales have been shown to go up after leaked copies. The threat of the MPAA slithering into your bed at night and dragging you off to court is just to keep it somewhat in check. People like yourself proliferate such ideas and scare away a few wary users - therefore helping said MPAA monster get under their covers.

I just don't like to wait, if the movie is good I buy it anyway - I wan the ones who do to keep putting out good movies. But Maybe I'm just weird.
