Had A LOT of trouble trying to extract this file, the 896MB AVI file would show up as a 24 575KB file while extracting and once the extracting process was complete I would get an error message and the AVI file would disappear without a trace. Finally managed to retrieve the file like this - started to extract as usual, then WHILE STILL EXTRACTING, I'd use VLC media player to open the 24 575KB AVI file (it says the AVI file is broken and asks if you'd like to "repair" it, choose "no"). That way, once the extraction is complete and the error message pops up, I still had the completed AVI file (I still get the "would you like to repair the AVI file" question, but it plays without a hitch on VLC).

This is a PBS TV rip, part of the ExxonMobil Masterpiece Theatre series, with a pre-film introduction and an after-film commentary by Russell Baker.

Video: good, DivX/704x480, no channel logo. The video stream goes choppy a few times, but only for a few seconds and only a couple of times.

Subtitles/closed captions: a separate TXT file, basically correct, but oddly enough, they aren't in sync with this rip. They start out with a 15 second delay, but it isn't permanent enough through the file to be fixed with Subtitle Workshop or a similar program (it's usually enough to reset the times for the 1st and the last line, but with these, the middle part was still off). Also, the subtitles themselves are annoyingly structured (short lines, so they go off-screen far too quickly imo).

WTF is it with people that rate the audio as 10 when the sound is out of sync (yes, Mystryx, i mean YOU). If it's out of sync with the video (which you say it is), then it's OBVIOUSLY NOT WORTH A 10. Being in/out of sync is one of the criteria of judging audio quality, so no matter how good the sound quality itself is, an out of sync audio track SHOULD NEVER BE A 10!! i know i'm overreacting here a bit, since Mystryx did bother to note that it was out of sync, but there a lots of people who don't and still give it a 10 (i should know, i've wasted so much time/bandwidth dl-ing those crappy torrents, because i trusted the user comments)

i appreciate the effort, but the video quality is ABYSMAL, very pixelated (like WMVs tend to be). The audio is good and in English.

The other BWOC torrent (the 11.47GB one on Demonoid) has better video quality but few seeders, so at least thanks for offering a faster and smaller alternative in case i give up before managing to completely download the other one.

The file has a dual audio track - German (default) and English. I watched it with VLC and to hear the original English dialogue you need to select "Audio" > "Audio track" > the 2nd "Audio".

Since it has dual audio tracks you need to watch it with something like VLC, because more basic video players will just play both the English & French dialogues at the same time.

The dialogue is in many languages, I think the main ones are English, Japanes and Chinese (can't be sure, since I don't speak the latter two).
There are English subtitles for the parts that are not in English encoded into the video file, but they can be difficult to see at times (the subs are white and when the background is also light, it hard to tell them apart). Also, the non-English parts seem to be under-translated (i.e. people seem to be saying much more in those other languages than is translated in the English subs).
However, like I said, English subtitles ARE provided and after about 30 minutes the dialogue is almost entirely in English, so all in all, this rip of the film is watchable for an English speaker.
Also, the video & audio quality is good (watched it with VLC).

Great video & audio quality for the film. The format .mkv plays fine with VLC.
It's also very thoughtful to have included the soundtrack, although it's a bit weird that it's all as one .flac file, not as separate tracks.
But still - an A+ rip of a hard-to-find film.

Great video & audio quality. The video format is .mp4, which can't be pla **** with every player, but VLC plays it just fine. The dialogue is in French (since it's a Frech movie, duh), but English subtitles are included in the torrent (as a separate .srt file, so you can turn them off/on).

Pretty good quality, although not DVDrip quality - the video lags a bit at times. Also, the audio is 900ms out of sync. You can fix it permanently with VirtualDub or a similar program or if you just want to fix it for 1 viewing with VLC do this:
select Tools > Extended menu > Synchronization > Advance of audio over video > +0,900s

I concur, the audio is out of sync at times and some of the frames keep jumping back and repeating themselves (e.g. at about 53 min into the video it happens about 5 times in a row). Sorry but this is UNWATCHABLE!!!
UPDATE: Get the PUKKA rip instead. Just finished watching it, so i can whole-heartedly recommend it.

i had some trouble with S02E04 - at about 30 min into the episode, the audio was out of sync for a couple of minutes, then OK and then out of sync again. Also, one of the scenes was cut off too abruptly (pretty much halfway through a conversation). But the other episodes were just great and the video quality is excellent on all of them. So, THANKS!
